A Fund-Raiser, Minus the Candidate(RUN AWAY!)
After a speech to Missourians pitching his health care plan, President Obama moved on to two fund-raisers in St. Louis for Democrats running in the November elections. But Robin Carnahan, a candidate for the Senate, did not appear with Mr. Obama at the fund-raiser, instead flying to Washington for meetings scheduled earlier. White House officials said that Ms. Carnahan already had plans when they decided that Mr. Obama would visit St. Louis, and that her campaign has asked if she could appear with him at a later date. “We’re working on that,” said Reid H.
