Scott Brown Takes Washington
The media frenzy around Scott Brown is really good news for the conservative movement. While his “41st” vote against healthcare is the immediate benefit, the circus-like atmosphere by both the left and the right is helping to bring even more focus to the people’s anger against the liberal Democrat agenda. Brown has gone from a relatively unknown to an overnight power player in Washington.
Today, Mr. Brown is visiting Washington for the first time as a US Senator, meeting with various members from both sides of the aisle including John Kerry, John McCain, Paul Kirk and other caucus members. His demeanor and the way he has stated his no-nonsense approach to legislative process is a fresh perspective for Capitol Hill.
While some of those on the right say that he is not a “true” conservative time will tell exactly where his political balance will be. There are rumors both ways that he is pro-life, or pro-abortion, and he did vote for healthcare in MA – things that might cause conservatives a little pain. But he has made it clear that he cannot vote for the healthcare bill currently under consideration, and to most conservatives, this alone will get him the pass that he initially deserves as he finds his way around Capitol Hill. What is clear though is that he does provide the opportunity to slow down the freight train that the Democrats were driving to ram through and destroy the US Constitution.
What really is interesting, is that the left is trying to eviscerate him, much like they did to Sarah Palin when she was first introduced to the country. I don’t think the attacks are going to work because of three main reasons: 1) Brown seems to be tough enough (much like Palin) to handle whatever is thrown his way, 2) the left’s playbook was totally exposed on Palin and will not have the same impact again, and 3) President Obama’s political capital is not as strong as it once was and many Americans (including Democrats) have lost confidence in the liberal Democrat agenda.
No matter how this plays out over the weeks and months to come, Brown’s victory in the Massachusetts special election has sent reverberations across the US political landscape. His victory has all but brought the healthcare discussion to a dead stop, it has sent chills of fear up the spines of many Congress men and women, it has given new hope to conservatives that Obama’s liberal march to socialism can be stopped and it has sent a message to Democrats that Americans really are mad as hell.
There is already talk about Brown running for President in 2012, it’s probably way too early to even have that conversation. But the fact remains that populist conservatives like Brown, Palin, Limbaugh, Beck, Levin and others of their ilk might be the future of the Republican party. When it comes down to it, Americans love their country and their freedoms, and want their children and grand children to have the same opportunities.
This election has clearly highlighted that the conservative movement is reborn as a result of the Democrats overreaching their mandate in Obama’s first twelve months in office. Washington better understand – and very quickly – that Brown’s victory in Massachusetts was a defining moment of US politics – one that will be talked about for years to come.
All eyes will be on Scott Brown as he takes Washington. The tide has turned and every one of us conservatives should say a huge collective thank you to Scott Brown for his hard work, his clear message and his dedication to the people he represents.

I m really impressed with your work. I m glad to have read this article. It was a great way of putting forward your ideas on this subject
While this makes sense and I don’t disagree, you have to ask if Sarah Palin would support it if Rush said it and called it satire
haha
