The Mood Of The American People

Tea party rally in Washington DC

I continue to be amazed and fascinated by the Senate race in Massachusetts, and what it really means for where this country is headed. And I think I have finally figured it out. This race is about the mood of the American people. After all the government missteps of the last 2-3 years, and with all the heavy-handed pressure that this administration is trying to foster, what we are seeing is the peaceful uprising of American citizens against the liberal Democrat establishment.

Kathy Abram had it right earlier this summer at Arlen Specter’s town hall meeting in Pennsylvania. The government has woken the sleeping bear and this rage has continued to grow since the summer into a simmering boil to the point that people are just simply fed up with the way this administration is shaping their policies. (more below . . .)

This rage has grown to this point because Americans are:

  • opposed to Obama and his liberal policies
  • opposed to big government
  • opposed to the healthcare bill currently under discussion
  • opposed to the lies of the global warming hoax
  • opposed to higher taxes to pay for out of control government spending
  • opposed to more government intervention in all facets of our lives
  • opposed to higher debt to pay for entitlement programs
  • opposed to giveaways to the special interests like unions
  • opposed to Chicago thug politics

The rage started with the conservatives with the tax day tea parties as the first outward indication that a large segment of the population were uncomfortable with the early policies that Obama was implementing. Then, during the summer, the town hall meetings expanded on the success of the tea parties as more people got involved, and this time we had Democrats starting to cross party lines to participate. Right after the town hall meetings, the 9/12 rally exposed how outraged the American people really were. All along the way the people who participated in these events encountered all sorts of ridicule and name calling.

Now that we see what is happening in Massachusetts with this special election, I think it’s very safe to say that the rebellion of the people against the liberal Democrat party is in full swing. The evidence could not be any clearer, Massachusetts is leaning towards voting a Republican into office for a Senate seat that has been held almost exclusively by Democrats since the 1920′s!

I am not trying to jinx this election, but all indications are that Brown probably will emerge as the winner. History will tell us, I believe, that this election was all about the mood of the American people and how the American people are taking a stand against Obama and the liberal Democrat Congress. We are witnessing an historic event that seems to indicate that America has not moved to the left and that conservative values still rule the day in America.
